Your surrogate compensation package is carefully designed to reflect the time, commitment, and care you invest in this journey. It goes beyond a base salary, covering the real costs and milestones of the surrogacy process.

Base Surrogate Pay

Your base pay is the foundation of your compensation and is determined by your location and experience level.

  • Experienced Surrogates: Significantly higher rates, starting at $90,000 in California and $75,000 out of state, reflecting your proven commitment and experience.

Higher Compensation for Experienced Surrogates

If you’ve been a surrogate before, your experience is genuinely valued at LifeBridge. Experienced surrogates receive meaningfully higher compensation, reflecting the trust and confidence that comes with a proven track record.
Factors that influence higher pay for experienced surrogates include:

  • Number of prior successful surrogacy journeys
  • Medical history and overall health profile
  • Specific circumstances of the intended parent match
  • Geographic location and state-specific considerations

California experienced surrogates typically earn between $90,000 and $150,000, with compensation increasing based on the details above. Out-of-state experienced surrogates start at $75,000 and increase from there. Every package is personalized, and our team will walk you through exactly what to expect during your consultation.

How Surrogate Compensation Is Paid

We believe you should always know exactly where you stand financially. That’s why we use a structured, transparent payment schedule, detailed in your Gestational Carrier Agreement, so there are no surprises.
Here’s how payments are generally structured:

  • Payments begin after a successful match. You won’t wait long, thanks to our ultra-fast matching process that averages just 4 weeks.
  • Compensation is distributed in installments throughout your pregnancy journey, aligned with key milestones.
  • Monthly allowances of $300 are paid consistently throughout the pregnancy.
  • Procedure-related payments, including your embryo transfer compensation and medication allowance, are paid at the appropriate stage.
  • Approved expense reimbursements are processed as qualified out-of-pocket costs arise, per your agreement.

Our dedicated team is here to answer any compensation questions at any time, and our 24/7 support means you’ll never have to wait to get clarity on your payments.
